Buriram domestic dispute leads to fatal stabbing, suicide attempt (2025)

A tragic incident unfolded in Buriram as a domestic dispute between a husband and wife over alleged infidelity resulted in a fatal stabbing. The husband, who later attempted to end his own life, was unsuccessful. The event occurred today, April 7.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Aphisit Saengdao, an investigator at Pakham District Police Station, received a report of a fatal stabbing incident that took place beside Baan Maidaeng Huakrasang Road in Hutumnob subdistrict, Pakham district. Accompanied by Police Lieutenant Colonel Mawin Horaban, the investigative team arrived at the scene.

The scene revealed a yellow, modified Mitsubishi car with Rayong licence plates parked by the roadside, its front end damaged. Nearby, a government-owned black and white concrete pole was damaged, suggesting the vehicle collided with it before veering off the road.

The body of a 37 year old woman, referred to as Bee for privacy, was discovered beside the road. She had sustained three stab wounds to the chest.

However, the assailant was not present. Rescue personnel transported her body to Pakham Hospital for further examination.

Later, police were informed of a suicide attempt in Ban Khok Charoen, Village 10, Nong Bua subdistrict, Pakham district. The man, identified as 44 year old Wichan from Pakham district, was the husband of the deceased woman.

Wichan was taken to Pakham Hospital by relatives. He was found to be the perpetrator of the stabbing.

The couple’s 18 year old daughter recounted that her parents, both working in Pattaya, Chon Buri, had travelled together to visit their home in Buriram. Her father worked as a hotel technician, while her mother was a cashier.

Upon arrival, they picked her up, intending to have breakfast at her grandmother’s house. During the drive, an intense argument erupted between her parents over accusations of infidelity, as her father suspected her mother of communicating with another man, having caught her twice before. Her mother’s face bore bruises, indicating prior conflict.

When they reached a temple, her father instructed her to leave the vehicle. Upon her refusal, he forcibly removed her from the car and drove off.

She then sought help from locals to return home. It was later revealed that her mother had been fatally stabbed by the roadside, reported KhaoSod.

Despite the tragedy, the daughter expressed a willingness to forgive her father, acknowledging him as her parent. Her father’s condition remains critical as he attempted to take his own life.
